McCain asked to debate Obama in a series of town hall debates, Obama refused. Anybody know why?
Manny. That is absurd. McCain rules in town hall settings. Have you ever seen Obama speak without prepared lines or a teleprompter? I guess not.

Show me a time when Obama has stood up against anything difficult. He has lived a sheltered ivy league life. Never stood up to his party (the reason why he is the most liberal senator). The media gives him a pass on numerous issues (Rezko, Ayers, campaign funding promises, debate promises, etc.) Why would he start showing courage now?
Know better? Leave your own answer in the comments!
Because that would have been a debate about the issues, something Obama is completely inexperienced and uninformed on. He would have got destroyed, why set yourself up for failure.

He is probably just preparing himself for the bigger and more important debate, that everyone will be watching. Maybe he doesn’t want McCain to know the arguments he will bring up, to embarrass him even more on T.V.

A view I think is pretty consistent with what I believe needs to happen economically. Its not that I was necessarily disturbed that Sabean went all in on a desired player, who had maybe a 50/50 chance of making it through the season. If it had been a power hitter in the mold of Andres Gallaraga, Ellis Burks, Reggie Sanders or any kind of a difference maker in terms of pitcher disruption, I would have defended and probably even lauded the move, even if we lost the roll of the dice. Because those are the kinds of guys that can put you over the top. And anytime a guy makes the right move that will put you in a position to win, you have to do it.

When you do that last year for the passing defense, you will see that the pass defense got better after Denver. Thats without Troy for a number of games and thats without a significant pass rush. LikeDislikeThis league has a strong chance of succeeding . The first reason is the demand in non-NFL cities. The first 8 cities should be L.A. Las Vegas, Memphis, San Antonio, Birmingham, Orlando, Chicago, New York and Fort Worth. The AFL should pursue the NFL free agents, Arena Football players and college players. Also, as bad as it may sound, the AFL must pursue suspended NFL players. Is there a possiblity of adding Canadian cities in future? Yes, the AFL should play from October to March. It’s going to take years to establish a fan base but in the end it will happen soon than later. I remember attending USFL games in Chicago and Memphis and they were great. They also had great names like the Chicago Blitz and the Memphis Showboats. If television was like it is now back then, the USFL might have merged with the NFL or still be in existence.

I’m guessing that although some games seem like sure things, I doubt that any team has better than a 65-70% chance of winning any given game, and that most games are closer than that in terms of both teams chances of winning the game.

LikeDislikeIt is for us that were actually taught in school the principals of mathematics. Kids dont get that anymore, the calculator does the work. We are indeed dumbing down generation after generation of kids. Sure they know how to play on a computer, but without it, they cant function. Their personal skills are deteriorating, and without the calulator and computer to look stuff up for them, they dont have a clue what to do. Imagine after all the generations that actually know in their heads how to figure stuff are all gone, and all that is on the earth is the computer generation, then the electrical systems get knocked out that run them. Ooops, we got a problem Houston.

Lately the only time weve had success is when we go 4 Wide-No Huddle late in the game. I say go no huddle and go to an Arizona Cardinals offense right now. Id have no problems with that. Maximize the number of possessions we get, get the ball to our best players (WRs and TEs).

LikeDislikeThe fact that no NBA team has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit says it all. Also, no team coached by Phil Jackson has ever been in a 3-0 hole, so I dont know if hell handle the situation very well. Jackson is a terrific coach, but hes a front-runner. His championships all came with the best player in the NBA and, in a few cases, maybe 2 of the best 5 on his team. As I wrote in my NBA playoff preview, the Lakers had all sorts of problems late in the season. They battled through that against the Hornets, who were missing their leading scorer, but they havent been able to do that in an evenly matched series against the Mavericks. If you want hope for the Lakers, its that Kobe Bryant has an incredible will to win. But its not going to happen. (And if it does happen, I can brag that I picked the Lakers in 7 games.)

LikeDislikeIve always said that I dont want to be rich and have all the headaches that come with it. The rich have major problems we middle class dont have. First, how to acquire riches, then how to keep them, how to guard them, how to use them, etc. Weve always earned enough to raise six children, have a decent roof over our heads, enough food on the table and decent clothing to wear. Also, enough after the children were grown and gone to put away/invest for retirement. We are living comfortable, not extravagantly now in retirement.
