The second annual God Debate features atheist neuroscientist Sam Harris and Evangelical Christian apologist William Lane Craig as they debate the topic: “Is Good From God?” The debate was sponsored in large part by the Notre Dame College of Arts and Letters: The Henkels Lecturer Series, The Center for Philosophy of Religion and the Institute for Scholarship in the Liberal Arts.
Buckley makes a huge error in Greek history. Chomsky did get it right.

A pompous automaton, bloated with self importance, gazing down his snout at one of the greatest men of our time as though he were chastising a school kid. Turn the sound off – yeah that’s right, turn it right off – and you’d swear you were watching a Thunderbird or a Pecksniffian puppet wobbling about in its chair.

Ask the mothers of dead iraquis what they think of Bush and his policies. Then ask the mothers of dead americans what they think of OBL. No, there’s no moral equivalence there. Not in these matters.
5) I think saying he’s mind *is* being American. Do you live in a totalitarian state by any chance?

LikeDislike@morristeflon 3) Chomsky only met buckley once – so no emotion involved. Having said that, he was just stating his opinion about the man. If you hear his interview about “buckley passing”, I think its very hard to disagree with his view. Hey, I called him a douche on the grounds of this pitiful interview, and he’s dead now. Wasn’t Nixon a douche?

1) He *is* a first class linguist. But I don’t know much about that, something important about grammar…
2) “washed-up robo lefty”? He is in his 80s and kicking; he thinks for himself in a brilliant and very human way; its very difficult to describe him as lefty, he is rather a libertarian socialist or anarchist (wiki);

Now, he is a washed up robo-lefty who didn’t even have the decency to say neutral — much less, respectful — words about Buckley on his passing. Most recently, this clown has condemned the action on OBL, making moral equivalence between a grotesque terrorist to George W. Bush. Now I am a Democrat, and no fan of W. or the Neocons. But first I am an American. Noam Chomsky has been flatly unAmerican for at least two decades.
